Check out this great gallery of screen captures of movie title pages, and tons of them. The thing here is that a designer worked and overworked a single frame, to create a 'lock-up' of the film title and it's a great education and an inspiration to see them all in one place. Link.

Too bad the site doesn't list the people who actually designed the Titles.
My professor in grad school co-did the ALIENS titles; his first design job out of school. Not a bad first step!
